Here are some recent conferences and events that I have spoken at.

IMSLive - Chiswick School - 25th April 2014

Opening Keynote on the importance of considering the published research findings on Technology and Learning when planning a 1:1 device programme in schools.

The presentation draws particularly on the work of Professor John Hattie, Professor Steve Higgins and the team behind the 1:1 Guidebook developed for schools in Alaska. All material from these sources is acknowledged. A PDF of the slides can be downloaded here.

International Forum for Innovative Development - "Open Innovations" - Moscow - November 2013

I was a member of the Mobile World panel "Teacher In A Pocket - Technologies in Large-Scale Digital Education" at this huge international event. The summary report on this panel is available as a PDF here. However, I should point out that I didn't actually say many of the things which are attributed to me in the summary. I wasn't given the opportuntity to check the document before it was published!

Hawai'i School Leadership Summit - Honolulu - October 2013

Along with my colleagues Cheryl Lemke (Metiri Group , San Francisco) and Mark Standley (University of Alaska) I facilitated a one-day seminar for school leaders from across Hawai'i on implementing 1:1 device programmes. The structure and outcomes of the day can be found in this Google Doc.

Schools of The Future Conference - Honolulu, Hawai'i  - October 2013

I was a Featured Speaker at this conference attended by over 700 delegates from public and private schools. I gave two presentations including one on designing real and virtual learning spaces. A PDF of the slides from my talk "Making Space For Learning" can be downloaded here.

ASTE Conference - Anchorage, Alaska - February 2013

I was the Closing Keynote speaker at ASTE2013 with the topic "World Class Learning and Teaching with Technology". The conference was attended by over 400 educators from across the state of Alaska. This was my second ASTE Keynote, having had the honour of being invited to speak at the same conference in 2005.
